How bad does it look on an application when you have no previous work experience?

May 302010

I am 21 and have never worked before and I am applying for a position as a cook. How bad does that hurt my chances of getting hired?

Also, on the application, it is asking for business references — but I have none. Do I just leave that blank?
Ha-ha. No, I wasn’t in jail or anything.

I have an associates degree (if that matters). It’s a bit irrelevant, though.

If you don’t have any business references, then use either:

– sports team coaches
– guide/scout leader
– former teacher
– former volunteer coordinator
–former priest or church person

Do NOT use family or friends as references.

Can i go to law school and get a professional job experience at the same time?

May 302010

i would like to one day be in the FBI, and in order to do that i need to have three years of proffessional work experiance (like a real job). I would also like to go to law school, for it is one of the criteria by which the FBI acepts applicants. So as not to waste time i would like to get my three years experiance and my law school at the same time. Is that possible?

You can’t work until your 3rd year of school.

I have a homework assignment.Who has experience with writing business proposals please?

May 302010

Ok for my homework assignment I’m suppost to act like I’m going to come up to my teacher as a proposal business partner. basically a three page outline of a make believe restaurant. I was hoping if someone with experience could help shoot me some guide lines and ideas of what should be importantly added as if it were real. What would you expect to hear from me? I would highly appreciate it, thank you.

When writing this for a proposed partnership you should include some information about the business. I would also suggest writing about the following:
-who is going to own each percentage of the business
-what those people’s responsibilities are in the business operation
-what happens to resolve disagreements
-what happens if someone chooses to leave the partnership
-salary/profit dispersion
-how you will raise additional money if it is needed

Those are just a few suggestions. Just keep in mind when writing your paper that proposals and business agreements in general are written to protect the parties involved as well as limit surprises down the road. I hope this helps.

How can you incorporate international study experience on your resume?

May 302010

We had someone from the Study Abroad department come to talk to our college class about a summer course that we can take in England. Anyway, she said that employers and/or graduate admissions committees think highly of those who have travel/study experience abroad. I wanted to know how you all felt about this concept. What is so great about traveling and taking a class in a different country, and how/where should I incorporate it on my resume?

Thanks

Studying abroad demonstrates that you are adaptable to new situations, can work well with different types of people, and are culturally sensitive.

I would mention it in any cover letters which you will send along with your resume. You could also bring it up during interviews. On the resume itself you need only mention the fact that you have studied abroad, as you will probably lack the space to go into much detail.

How come peole don’t understand God gifts?

May 302010

He gave us life and allow us to make daily choices and decisions of what we have. The real gift is freedom to live and experience life, while following the 10 commandments; only to remind us what it takes to get to Heaven. We will make mistakes because all people can sin, having free will. But again, God want us to be smart and wise, not irresponsible and stubborn. In every-way those characteristics can come alive and it’s up to us to be reminded and instill faith.

and… of which god were you speaking again?

Anyone here ever did a Richard Petty Driving Experience or Ride Along?

May 302010

I would like to get one for my husband, any feedback on how that was or which would be better, I know the ride along is FASTER, but driving yourself might be cool as well.

I BOUGHT THE RICHARD PETTY DRIVING EXPERIENCE FOR MY HUSBAND AND HE THOUGHT IT WAS THE MOST AWESOME THING HE HAD EVER DONE THE ONLY THING HE FELT BAD ABOUT IS THAT THEY PUT RESTRICTOR PLATES ON THE CARS BUT HE DID GO TO DAYTONA TO DO IT AND HE ALSO DID THE RIDE ALONG AND SO DID MY FIFTEEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND THEY BOTH LOVED IT. HE DIED A YEAR AFTER I GAVE IT TO HIM SO I DON’T REGRET IT YOU GET PICTURES OF IT ON A PLACK SO I HOPE YOU GET AS MANY MEMORIES OUT OF YOURS THAT I HAVE . ENJOY

What in your personal life’s experiences makes the gift of God, grace, a free pardon, real & plausible to you?

May 302010

Most of us who are parents can probably identify with the parable of "the prodigal son". We love our children so much that we could or would forgive them for anything, and accept them back with open arms. Most of us who are saved probably know people who are unable to accept the free gift of salvation because it sounds too good to be true. Is there any particular incident in your personal relationship with your spouse or child or parent that has enabled you to believe that God loves you enough that all your sins are forgiven and that you have the assurance of eternal life?

I grew up with very abusive parents. When I thought about God growing up, I always envisioned Him to be mean and judgmental, and I guess I felt that way because of the way I was treated at home. At the age of 13, I was invited by one of my school friends to attend her church. It was there that I heard about Jesus and how He loved me so much that He suffered a terrible death just so that I could go to Heaven. I went forward when the invitation was given, and accepted Jesus into my heart; the next Sunday I was baptized. I knew from that moment on that nothing could ever separate me from His love. God bless you!!!

Any personal experiences on getting a cat declawed?

May 302010

Ok sorry but Im not going into details nor will I pay any attention to those of you with nothing but negatives comments. I am getting my cat declawed tomorrow (I have thought about it-and made my decision). Im just curious about post-surgery and care of my cat. Also any personal experiences you may have had with your cat(s).
Thank you.
LOL thanks for the one good answer so far sheesh how annoying some of you can be!
Oops sorry I have a few good responses thanks!

Well firstly i’ll let you know, your going to get a lot of negative responses… but I won’t be one of those people to give you one!… I have two cats, one declawed, and one isn’t… for my first cat, i had the appointment all set up for her and everything, then I did my research, and thought it was an awful procedure and I didn’t do it… BUT.. the only reason I chose not to do it, was because she NEVER uses her claws.. not on furniture, or the other animals.

Now my other cat, who is a male, used his claws like crazy!… on the furniture, he cut my poor dogs eye open, and he cut my legs open a couple times… he’s a very sweet cat, but he just LOVED using those claws!… I was very upset that I was getting him declawed, and worried like crazy that he would be in a tremendous amount of pain… luckily, I go to a VERY good vet, and they kept him on high doses of pain killers to numb the pain, and also kept him over night. When I picked him up the next day, he acted totally normal! (he was also nuetered at the same time)… The vet sent me home with some pain meds that I had to squirt in his mouth twice a day (which he hated)… he was a little drousy for a couple days, but about a week later, he was back to his old self.. and does not act any differently.

I’m sure your cat will do just fine… just make sure you have a very reputable vet, because it is a very serious procedure.
