Description: The following series of videos contain basic vinyl application techniques, and are designed for beginners who have no experience with applying vinyl to sign substrates. The video is shown in it’s entirety, but has been broken into (4) sections to allow for YouTube placement.

The video assumes that you understand how to use your vinyl cutting software and vinyl cutter, and have finished cutting out the vinyl graphics. They show you how to weed the cut vinyl, as well as how to apply premask. Next, they will teach you how to apply the letters to the substrate. The vertical hinge method, and the horizontal hinge method, is featured. Use of the wet method is also highlighted. Proper use of common signmaking tools, such as squeegees, brayers, premask systems, etc., make the whole process of applying vinyl clear and understandable. As a bonus it describes the different types of vinyl, cast or calendared, and explains when you use each. Specialty vinyls are also shown.

How to fill out previous work experience on a job application when you’ve had none?

April 162010

If you’re a teenager and have not had any prior work experience, how should you fill out the previous work areas??

If you have any long-term volunteer work you can put it there (i.e. continuing to volunteer on an ongoing basis for 6 months or more – don’t list one-off volunteering) so long as you make sure it’s clear it was an unpaid position. Otherwise just leave it blank.

my only work experience was temporary job what do i put for most recent employment on my application?

April 142010

i work at amazon warehouse as a temp in the winter for like 2 or 3 weeks as a picker. do i list that as my recent employer on my application for housekeeping. if that’s the only work experience i got.

You have never babysat or done a yard job or odd job for someone? Yes you definitely need to put what you did and explain you were doing temp work while you were trying to find more permanent work. If you are younger and this would be your first "job" the company should understand.

Is it better not to mention a bad job experience on an application?

April 122010

My first job was at Rite Aid, and I only worked there three days before quitting (they wanted me to work 9 hours a day 5 days a week because they were so short-staffed and I just couldn’t do it–when I was interviewed I was told I would only be working part-time). The manager was extremely upset/angry.

So, I don’t know if I should omit working there from my resume and sacrifice job experience for avoiding the risk of the manager saying something bad about me.

if you tell the truth you will never be hired.

I’d never hire you.

Is it okay to attach my resume to a work application instead of filling out the work experience section?

April 102010

I picked up about 30+ applications today, and I have several years of experience, and I am not going to lie, I don’t want to fill out the same things over and over and over again. Is it appropriate to just attach my resume so they can find everything they need on there instead of writing it all out for them?

Typically I think that filling out the boxes is something required for equal employment. I’ve seen from an HR perspective where resumes are passed up because the applicant didn’t bother to follow simple instructions (and made it harder fo them to get the basic info).

I think that you should pick your top 5-10 and work through completing that many each day. Another random stat for you, for ever 10 you send out, you may only get 1 or 2 responses so make your applications count.

GOOD LUCK!

How do you write a Work Experience Application?

April 82010

Dear twat
I want to come to your shithole to work for a week great

what should a teenager put on a job application if they don’t have any work experience or references?

April 62010

My daughter who is 17 years old never knows who she should put an a job application for references. And how do you get a job with not work experience.

Tell her to ask some people about using them as personal references [relative, neighbor, coach, teacher] who might give her a favorable character reference. As for a first job, restaurants and stores might be willing to give her a chance.
