6rounds Video Chat Experience – Google Wave Extension Demo
February 262010
This is a short demo of how 6rounds video chat experience gadget works in Google Wave. Natasha presents the lobby of the extension where you take a seat and wait for another user to join and then shows everything that’s possible to do in the chat – send virtual animated gifts, perform webcam effects, share activities and games together, change skins and use the ice-break tips.

Currently, 6rounds …
Currently, 6rounds supports only one on one video chats, but we plan to change this in the future and allow multiple users in chats.
Within the video chat extension in Google Wave, you can enjoy unlimited simultaneously sessions. When all seats are taken, new seats are automatically being generated and presented to the users in the Wave.
Hope this helps

I, too, am interested in learning how we can have multiple people video chatting at once. Is 6Rounds working on changing this in the future?
And you mention that a wave can handle multiple video chats…can this happen simultaneously?
Very interested in this feature, if possible! Thanks!

hmm. my friend and i are having problems w/ 6rounds not recognizing our macbook iSights w/ Snow Leopard 10.6.2. so far, i’ve changed the adobe flash settings and managed to change the camera to USB video class and worked. tried the microphone to built in microphone or input, and none of those settings worked. i really am hoping this issue gets sorted out for macs.. this extension is really exciting, and i’m hoping to use it a lot for grad school, especially for group projects.
thanks ^__^

MARKETING-ADVICE:
you should add subtitles to your video to make it accessible for deaf, hard of hearing and people who are not such comfortable with English!
you will reach many deaf people with your application because they will use videochat to communicate in sign language – so come on: it’s not so much work to do and it’s worth it!!!
