I agree. This film …
I agree. This film has changed my minds about war. Absolutely.

There’s very few …
There’s very few who have managed to make movies about war that don’t border on the romantic. No doubt it was the intention to make it honest, but no one-sided perspective can ever be unpolitical. It might be honest compared to FoxNews… but from a non-American perspective? The animation, regardless of the intent, comes across as pure propaganda.

No, Catt001. I’ve …
No, Catt001. I’ve seen the film. There’s nothing stereotypical about it. Unbelievably honest and visceral. And not necessarily political, either. The “cartoons,” which are only in a part of the film, are very effective. This is a must-see!

Hmmm… looks …
Hmmm… looks interesting. It’ll definately give a pretty unique perspective though… my main issue though is with those cartoons. They’ve got a pretty stereotypical portrayal of the Iraqis there… there’s probably going to be some people complaining about that.

This looks like it …
This looks like it will be moving and powerful. I’m looking forward to it.

Hi all,
This film …
Hi all,
This film is different from “Muse of Fire.” “Muse of Fire” is more focused on the NEA’s program, was made by a different company, and won’t be airing on TV. “Operation Homecoming” includes readings & interpretations of 11 pieces of writing. A long version will have some theatrical screenings. A shorter version will air on PBS on April 16 as part of the series “America at a Crossroads.”

Through interviews …
Through interviews and dramatic readings, the film transforms selections from this collection of writing into a deep examination of the experiences of the men and women who are serving in America’s armed forces. At the same time it provides depth and context to these experiences through a broader look at the universal themes of war literature.
Airing on PBS on Monday April 16, 2007, with a longer version playing in theatres nationwide.
